Host Site & Community Partnerships

Friedens is proud to provide meeting and worship space for developing congregations and community organizations. We currently host two emerging faith communities as well as the South Salt Creek Community Organization (SSCCO). Congregation members serve as liaisons to help foster these partnerships.

 

Lancaster Rehabilitation Center Worship Service

Since the 1970s, Friedens has partnered with Lancaster Rehabilitation Center to provide weekly worship services for residents. Each Wednesday at 3 p.m., volunteers and the pastor lead a time of worship, prayer, and fellowship. New volunteers are always welcome.

 

Lutheran World Relief School Kits

Each year, Friedens collects, sorts, and packs school supplies for students around the world through Lutheran World Relief. In 2025, congregation members assembled 110 school kits to support children's education and learning.

 

FEAST Meals Ministry

Friedens partners with FEAST, a ministry of worship, study, and fellowship for incarcerated individuals and their families. Several times each year, congregation members prepare and serve meals to support this meaningful ministry coordinated by Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.

 

Lincoln Lutheran Food Pantry

Together with other Lutheran congregations in Lincoln, Friedens supports the Lincoln Lutheran Food Pantry through donations of food, financial gifts, and volunteer service. We also help connect community members with food assistance when needs arise.

Our ministry extends beyond our congregation through partnerships with the Nebraska Synod and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Locally, we support and volunteer with organizations such as Lutheran Family Services, People's City Mission, Bridges to Hope, Tabitha, CROP Hunger Walk, and Lutheran Campus Ministry. Through these partnerships, we seek to share Christ's love in our community and beyond.
